The classic T-shape island form, built the way it should be — 18/10 stainless steel, fully welded and polished joints, 850m³/hr motor, timer function, and 4 LED lights. 90cm. Black or Stainless Steel. No unnecessary complexity. Just a well-made island hood that does the job properly.

Flat Island Cooker Hood — The Classic Island Form. Properly Built.

The Flat, T-shape island cooker hood is the form that most buyers picture when they search "island extractor fan." A flat, low-profile body above the hob. A chimney rising cleanly to the ceiling. A silhouette that works equally well in a contemporary kitchen-diner and a transitional design that mixes modern appliances with classic cabinetry. It's been the visual language of premium kitchen extraction for decades — and the reason is simple: it looks right above an island because it was designed to be there.

Luxair's T-Shape Island hood is the version of that classic form that's actually worth buying. Not because it's the most complex or feature-rich island hood in the range — it isn't, and it doesn't need to be. But because it's constructed from 18/10 grade stainless steel with every joint fully welded and polished, because it runs a powerful 850m³/hr motor, and because it's built to the standard that Luxair applies across its entire island range regardless of price tier.

18/10 stainless steel — fully welded, fully polished

The quality of a stainless steel island hood shows itself over time and on close inspection. Budget alternatives use thinner steel, spot welds that leave visible marks, and edges that aren't fully finished. The Luxair Flat Island uses 18/10 grade stainless steel — the same specification as professional kitchen equipment — with all joints fully welded and polished to a seamless finish. The chimney section meets the body cleanly, the edges are smooth, and the hood looks as good from two metres away as it does from two inches. In a kitchen where the island hood is the centrepiece above an open cooking surface, that construction quality is visible every day.

850m³/hr motor with timer — nothing more than you need

Three fan speeds cover quiet background extraction through to full-power ventilation for heavy cooking. The timer function turns the motor off automatically after a set period — a practical convenience that comes standard rather than as an upgrade. Four 1.3W LED lights at 4000K provide neutral white task lighting below the hood, bright enough for precision cooking work. Push-button backlit controls are simple, intuitive, and don't require a manual to operate. For open-plan kitchens where the extractor runs daily, that operational simplicity matters.

Ducted or recirculating. Two finishes.

The T-Shape Island ducts externally via 150mm (6") round or flat ducting for maximum extraction efficiency. Where external ducting isn't possible, charcoal filters enable recirculation mode. Dishwasher-safe aluminium grease filters are included as standard and straightforward to remove and replace. Available in Matt Black and Brushed Stainless Steel — both in the same 18/10 grade construction, both 90cm wide. Register within 31 days of installation for seven years of parts and labour warranty.

Home Visit & Installation Advice
Confused? Unsure? Let Us Help You Choose A Kitchen Extractor

Luxair Cooker Hoods now offer a site visit by one of our qualified in-house engineers, where they will advise on the best option regarding what cooker hood suits your kitchen needs, they can also advise on the best way to run your ducting or if re-circulation may be best for your setup.

An installation service is also available upon request and completion of a Site or home Survey. Prices will vary dependent on installation required and will be quoted once an engineer has made his visit and all necessary observations are made in relation to your cooker hood installation.

What you need to know:

Another important reason to consider a site survey is to identify the most suitable cooker hood for the location of your kitchen or bathroom.

We will look at the very best option, taking into consideration the size of your kitchen, if the ceiling construction is suitable for a ceiling cooker hood, any potential regulation requirements and above all the correct motor size and ducting route to give you the optimum extraction you require.

Your Site Survey:

During a site survey, your Luxair engineer will discuss your requirements, taking into consideration the appropriate extraction output for the room, the relevant location within the kitchen and the most suitable ducting system for your cooker hood. If the installation is new, the site survey will identify the requirements for the ducting system, ventilation and clearances to any combustible materials to maintain safe use. The site survey will allow your Luxair engineer to provide you with the best advice, consequently avoiding any unexpected expense.

Please Note: All site surveys will be booked in directly with the engineers, who will contact you within 1 - 7 working days of your payment being processed. Our engineers will call you to arrange a date and time that is convenient to you. Book Here
