Oval Island Cooker Hood — An Elliptical Body. A Horizontal Glass Collar. Nothing Else Like It.
The Luxair island range runs from circles to rectangles — and the Oval sits precisely between them. Its body is elliptical, with the proportioned organic quality that sits more comfortably above a standard kitchen island than a true circle would. And around that elliptical body, at its widest point, runs a horizontal band of 8mm tempered safety glass — a glass collar that encircles the full perimeter of the hood.
This is the same design principle as the Round Glass Island: a horizontal glass element at the body's equator that adds visual lightness, catches and refracts light from the LEDs within, and separates this hood visually from every rectangular option in the range. The result is a hood that looks considered from every angle in the kitchen — not an appliance someone fitted above the island, but an object someone chose.
The glass collar — horizontal, full perimeter, 8mm tempered
The 8mm tempered glass runs as a flat, horizontal band around the complete oval circumference of the hood body. Viewed from the side, it creates a clean horizontal line at the widest point of the ellipse — a visual equator that emphasises the hood's organic form and gives the silhouette a layered quality. Viewed from below, the glass collar frames the oval body above the hob, with the dimmable LED lights within the body projecting downward through and around the glass. The 8mm thickness is a premium specification — solid enough to feel substantial, tempered to withstand kitchen heat. It is the design element that separates the Oval from both a plain oval body and from the rectangular hoods that make up the majority of the island range.
850m³/hr, boost, timer, optional remote
The motor delivers 850m³/hr across three fan speeds, with boost mode for demanding cooking sessions and a timer for automatic shut-off. Push-button controls handle standard daily operation directly on the hood panel. The optional remote control, is worth adding before installation rather than after — for an oval hood installed at height above a central island, reaching the panel is less convenient than operating from across the room. The telescopic chimney adjusts for different ceiling heights. Ducted externally via 150mm (6") ducting for full performance, or recirculated with charcoal filters where external ducting isn't possible. Dishwasher-safe aluminium grease filters included as standard. Register within 31 days of installation for seven years of parts and labour warranty.
