The Lusso Professional is the top of the Luxair wall-mounted range. Not by a small margin — at 1,350m³/hr it delivers nearly double the extraction output of other wall mounted hoods. It is the answer to the question "what's the most powerful wall-mounted cooker hood you make?" and the answer is this one.

That power level is relevant for a specific buyer: someone with a serious range cooker producing significant heat and smoke load, someone converting a commercial kitchen to domestic use, or simply someone who has been frustrated by the limitations of standard domestic extraction and wants a wall hood that will genuinely keep pace with how they cook. The Lusso Professional is built around that buyer.

1,350m³/hr — what that output actually means

UK building regulations require a minimum of 30–60 litres per second (approximately 110–215m³/hr) for kitchen extraction. A standard domestic wall hood runs at 500–700m³/hr. The Lusso Professional runs at 1,350m³/hr — enough to clear a large professional-grade kitchen, manage multiple simultaneous high-heat cooking surfaces, or handle the output of a large range cooker running at full capacity without the extraction becoming the limiting factor. 200mm (8") ducting is required to support the full output without restriction.

Polished stainless steel baffle filters — 98% grease capture

Most other wall-mounted hood use aluminium mesh grease filters. The Lusso Professional uses polished stainless steel baffle filters — the specification found in commercial kitchen extraction systems. Baffle filters work by directing the airstream through a series of angled channels that force grease droplets to separate from the airflow by momentum rather than catching them in a mesh. The result is 98% grease capture, significantly higher than aluminium mesh, and a filter that is more durable, easier to clean under a hot tap or in a dishwasher, and resistant to the degradation that aluminium mesh can suffer over years of heavy use. The polished stainless steel finish also means the filters are a visible design feature rather than something to hide.

Three finishes — including Anthracite

Stainless Steel is available across all five sizes (90, 100, 110, 120, and 150cm) and is the natural pairing for professional-look range cookers in polished or brushed steel finishes. Black is available in 120cm and 150cm — the larger format sizes that tend to sit above wider range cookers where a dark finish creates the most dramatic visual weight above the cooking surface. Anthracite — available in 90cm and 120cm — is the finish for buyers who want darker than stainless but more nuanced than matte black: a deep, warm charcoal tone that works in industrial kitchen schemes, dark painted cabinetry, and statement kitchen designs where a flat black would feel too uniform. It's a finish rarely found in wall-mounted cooker hoods at any price point.

Baffle Grease Filters:

These are a game changer when it comes to grease extraction. Designed to be 98% efficient, the stainless steel baffle filters are not only effective at collecting grease but also reduce noise levels, making your extractor quieter during use. Compared to traditional mesh filters, baffle filters are 80% more efficient and give the kitchen a professional touch.

Flexible Ducting Options:

It’s recommended to use 200mm (8") ducting for the best performance, though you can use 150mm (6") ducting. Be mindful that the latter will slightly affect extraction and noise levels.

Ducting run limit is 6.5 meters, with up to one third loss of extraction efficiency for every 90° bend. So, plan your ducting layout carefully for the best performance.

Optional Remote Control:

For extra convenience, there’s an optional remote control (sold separately) that makes controlling the extractor easier, especially if it's positioned out of immediate reach

Luxair Cooker Hoods now offer a site visit by one of our qualified in-house engineers, where they will advise on the best option regarding what cooker hood suits your kitchen needs, they can also advise on the best way to run your ducting or if re-circulation may be best for your setup.

An installation service is also available upon request and completion of a Site or home Survey. Prices will vary dependent on installation required and will be quoted once an engineer has made his visit and all necessary observations are made in relation to your cooker hood installation.

Another important reason to consider a site survey is to identify the most suitable cooker hood for the location of your kitchen or bathroom.

We will look at the very best option, taking into consideration the size of your kitchen, if the ceiling construction is suitable for a ceiling cooker hood, any potential regulation requirements and above all the correct motor size and ducting route to give you the optimum extraction you require.

Your Site Survey:

During a site survey, your Luxair engineer will discuss your requirements, taking into consideration the appropriate extraction output for the room, the relevant location within the kitchen and the most suitable ducting system for your cooker hood. If the installation is new, the site survey will identify the requirements for the ducting system, ventilation and clearances to any combustible materials to maintain safe use. The site survey will allow your Luxair engineer to provide you with the best advice, consequently avoiding any unexpected expense.
