Luxair Round Charcoal Filter — Number 6

The Round Charcoal Filter Number 6 is Luxair's most widely compatible replacement charcoal filter, fitting 14 different hood models across the wall, island, canopy, integrated, and telescopic ranges. If your hood runs in recirculation mode and you're not sure which filter number you need, this is the most likely match — but always verify your model against the compatible list below before ordering. Each pack contains 2 filters at £19.99 — or subscribe and never run out.

Compatible models:

  • Artis Wall Hood
  • Linea Wall Hood
  • Linea Island Hood
  • Integrated Cooker Hood
  • Telescopic Cooker Hood
  • Ascenti Wall Hood
  • Tornia Canopy Hood
  • Curva Wall Hood
  • Moda Island Hood
  • Moda Wall Hood
  • Master Range Wall Hood
  • Alto Canopy Hood
  • Novello Large Canopy Hood

If your hood is not listed above, check the Manuals tab for the PDF dimensions or contact our UK-based support team with your model name and we'll confirm the correct filter number for you.

Why charcoal filters matter

When your hood runs in recirculation mode, air drawn up from the hob passes through the metal grease filters first, then through the charcoal filter, before being returned clean to the kitchen. The charcoal filter absorbs cooking odours — garlic, fish, spices, frying — everything that would otherwise linger in your kitchen and home. A fresh filter absorbs effectively and your kitchen stays fresh. A saturated filter stops absorbing, odours return, and airflow through the motor becomes restricted — increasing wear over time.

With 14 compatible models spanning everything from a compact telescopic hood to a premium island extractor, the Number 6 is the filter that keeps the broadest range of Luxair kitchens smelling clean.

Multibuy savings

Need more than one pack? Multibuy savings are available — the more you order, the more you save per pack. Select your preferred quantity above to see the saving applied automatically at checkout.

When to replace

Replace every 3 months under normal cooking use, or every 50 hours of cooking — whichever comes first. If you cook frequently or with strong-smelling ingredients, the 3-month schedule keeps performance at its best. Signs your filter needs replacing: cooking odours returning to the kitchen during or after use, noticeably reduced airflow, or a stale smell when the hood is running.

Regular replacement also protects your motor. A clogged charcoal filter forces the motor to work against restricted airflow, increasing wear over time. At £20 per pack, regular replacement is the most cost-effective way to protect a much larger investment.

Subscribe and never run out

The easiest way to stay on top of filter changes is to subscribe. You'll receive a full year's supply delivered automatically, timed to arrive before you need them — no remembering to reorder, no running out mid-cook. Subscribing saves you money compared to buying individually, and you can skip, pause, or cancel at any time with no lock-in. Full subscription details and savings are shown at checkout.

How to replace the filter

Switch the hood off and remove the metal grease filters. Remove the old Number 6 filter from its housing — refer to the PDF in the Manuals tab for the exact fitting method for your specific model if needed. Fit the new filter, refit the grease filters, and the hood is ready to use. A step-by-step video guide is also available on this page — watch it before your first change for a clear visual walkthrough.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know the Number 6 is the right filter for my hood?
Check your hood model against the compatible list above. If your model is listed, Number 6 is correct. If you're still unsure, check the filter dimensions in the PDF in the Manuals tab and compare with your existing filter. If you don't have an existing filter to measure, contact our support team with your model name and serial number and we'll confirm before you order.

How is the Number 6 different from Numbers 4 and 5?
All three are round charcoal filters but with different physical dimensions for different hood models. Number 4 fits older pre-2011 LA-604 models only. Number 5 fits the Pyramid wall hood and Este canopy hood. Number 6 fits the broader range of 14 models listed above. They are not interchangeable — always verify the number specific to your hood.

How many filters do I get per pack?
Each pack contains 2 round charcoal filters. Replacing every 3 months requires 4 packs per year — exactly what the annual subscription delivers (8 filters total).

What are the multibuy savings?
If you need multiple packs — for example if you have more than one Luxair hood running in recirculation mode, or you want to stock up — select a higher quantity above and the saving will be applied automatically at checkout.

Can I wash and reuse the filter?
No. Charcoal filters cannot be washed or regenerated — the active carbon is spent once saturated and must be replaced. Washing does not restore filtration performance.

What happens if I don't replace it on schedule?
Cooking odours return to the kitchen, airflow reduces, and the motor works harder against restricted flow — increasing wear and shortening its working life. Regular replacement is the simplest and most cost-effective way to protect your hood's performance long term.

Is this a genuine Luxair filter?
Yes. This is a genuine Luxair replacement charcoal filter manufactured to the correct specification for all compatible models listed above. Third-party filters may not fit correctly or provide equivalent filtration performance.
