Luxair Small Ceiling Extractor Long-Life Matt Filter — Number 15

If your Luxair small ceiling extractor runs in recirculation mode, the Number 15 is the long-life washable matt filter designed specifically for it. Unlike standard granular carbon charcoal filters which are discarded after 3–4 months, this rectangular filter is washable and reusable — lasting up to 3 years with correct maintenance. One purchase covers you for years rather than months.

Compatible models — select your model from the dropdown above:

  • LA-350-CE x 1 filter
  • LA-400-CE x 1 filter
  • LA-600-CE x 2 filters
  • LA-650-CE x 1 large filter
  • LA-800-CE x 2 filters
  • LA-950-CE x 2 filters

Please note, the above order options are set correctly for your model number. Correctly select your model number and the pricing/amount of filters will be automatically calculated and sent.

If you're unsure whether this is the correct filter for your extractor, use the contact form on this page — our UK-based support team will confirm for you.

Washable and reusable — how it works

The Number 15 matt filter uses regenerated washable panels that can be cleaned and reinstated to full performance. The rectangular flat filter installs easily behind the metal grease filters of your small ceiling extractor.

Clean the filter every 4 months — or every 3 months if you cook heavily — and it will continue performing effectively for up to 3 years and up to 5 wash cycles in total. To clean: either wash by hand using warm soapy water, or place flat in the dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle. After washing, allow to air dry vertically at room temperature before refitting. Do not use heat to speed drying.

Why choose the long-life filter over standard replacements

The Number 15 is the more sustainable and cost-effective choice for small ceiling extractor owners. Rather than purchasing replacement packs every 3–4 months, a single filter provides up to 3 years of filtration with straightforward periodic washing — reducing both ongoing costs and filter waste.

How to install

A short installation video is available on this page — watch it before fitting for a clear visual walkthrough. As a general guide: switch the extractor off, remove the mesh grease filter, fit the Number 15 charcoal filter into position, and refit the grease filter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my small ceiling extractor uses recirculation mode?
If your extractor vents air through a duct to an outside wall or ceiling vent, it is ducted and does not require a charcoal filter. If it has no external duct and returns filtered air back into the room, it is recirculating and requires a charcoal filter. Check your manual or look for a charcoal filter housing inside the extractor behind the grease filter.

Do I need the mesh grease filter with my charcoal filter?
If your existing mesh grease filter is intact and in good condition, the charcoal filter only option is all you need. If your mesh grease filter is damaged, missing, or worn, select the option that includes the replacement mesh grease filter to refresh both at the same time.

Can I wash this filter in the dishwasher?
Yes — place the filter flat in the dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle. Alternatively, wash by hand in warm soapy water. After washing, allow to air dry vertically at room temperature before refitting. Do not use heat to speed up drying.

How many times can I wash the Number 15 filter?
Up to 5 wash cycles over the filter's lifespan of up to 3 years. After 5 washes, the filter should be replaced — performance will diminish beyond this point regardless of how it looks.

Is this the same filter as Number 13 or Number 14?
No. The Number 13 fits the Soffitto, Skyline, Celux and Mille ceiling hoods. The Number 14 fits the Orion Recirculating Ceiling Hood. The Number 15 is sized specifically for the LA-CE range of small ceiling extractors (LA-350-CE through LA-950-CE). Using the wrong filter number may result in an incorrect fit — always check your model code before ordering.

What happens if I don't clean or replace the filter?
A clogged or fully saturated filter restricts airflow through the extractor, reducing performance and making the motor work harder. Regular cleaning on schedule maintains performance and protects motor lifespan.

Does the subscription auto-renew?
Yes — the subscription renews automatically. You can skip, pause, or cancel at any time. Full details are in our subscription policy.
