The Luxair Hubble 60cm angled black glass cooker hood provides style and budget friendy.
Not every kitchen needs a £1,000 extractor. What every kitchen does need is a hood that does its job reliably, looks good while doing it, and doesn't demand constant attention. The Luxair Hubble is exactly that — a 60cm angled curved black glass wall mounted cooker hood designed for real kitchens, real budgets, and real everyday cooking. Where affordability meets genuine Luxair build quality, making it one of the most popular choices for first-time buyers, rental landlords, new build developers, and anyone fitting out a kitchen where value for money matters without wanting to compromise on appearance.

Which kitchen styles does it suit?

The Hubble's angled black glass canopy has a quiet versatility that makes it easier to place than you might expect from a budget hood. The curved black glass face and clean black finish work naturally in a modern white kitchen — where the hood becomes a crisp visual anchor above the hob rather than an afterthought. In a traditional dark kitchen with navy or charcoal cabinets it blends in seamlessly, the black glass disappearing into the overall scheme. In a boho or eclectic kitchen with mixed textures and warm tones it adds a clean, modern counterpoint without clashing. In a contemporary grey or concrete-effect kitchen it sits comfortably alongside dark fittings and brushed hardware. Because it doesn't try to be a statement piece, it works in almost any kitchen where a compact, neat, dark-finish hood is what the space calls for — including rental properties and new builds where the design needs to appeal to a wide range of future occupants.

Performance & extraction

The Hubble is built around a motor sized correctly for a 60cm hob in a standard kitchen — drawing steam, smoke, and cooking odours up and away from the hob quickly and efficiently during everyday cooking. Three fan speeds give you control over extraction level: low for gentle background ventilation during light cooking, medium for everyday use, and high when a full hob of pans is in full swing. For ducted installation, air is vented directly outside for maximum extraction effectiveness. For kitchens where external ducting isn't available, the Hubble runs in recirculation mode with compatible round charcoal filters (Number 8, sold separately).

Design details

The defining feature of the Hubble is its angled curved black glass canopy — the same distinctive profile that appears on Luxair's premium Curva range, here offered in the Trade Line at an accessible price point. The curved glass angles forward and down toward the hob, improving capture of rising steam at the point where it leaves the cooking surface. The result is a hood that looks more considered than a plain stainless steel chimney and functions more effectively than a flat-face design at the same price point.

Maintenance

Aluminium mesh grease filters sit beneath the glass canopy, capturing airborne grease before it reaches the motor. They're dishwasher-safe, so cleaning is a matter of sliding them out and putting them in the next wash — no special products, no time-consuming scrubbing. For recirculation use, replace the charcoal filters (Number 8) every three to four months depending on cooking frequency to keep filtration working effectively.

Installation & ventilation

The Hubble installs as a standard wall-mounted chimney hood. For ducted extraction, connect to 125mm (5") round ducting — 150mm (6") if your installation allows it for marginally better airflow. For recirculation mode, fit compatible round charcoal filters (Number 8, sold separately). Full installation instructions are included and the manual is available to download above. If you'd prefer professional installation, book a Luxair home survey and one of our engineers can carry out the full fit and advise on the best ducting route for your kitchen.

How does the Hubble compare to the Curva?

The Hubble and Curva black glass wall cooker hood share the same angled curved black glass profile — the same distinctive look that makes this style of hood so popular in modern kitchens. The difference is in the motor output, finish quality, and additional features. The Curva is Luxair's premium angled hood, with a more powerful brushless motor, dimmable LED lighting with adjustable colour temperature, smart touch controls, and a Boost mode. If your kitchen sees heavy, daily cooking or you want more control over lighting and extraction, the Curva is worth the upgrade. If you want the same black glass aesthetic at a straightforward everyday price, the Hubble delivers it cleanly.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hubble suitable for a rental property or new build?
Yes — it's one of the most popular Luxair hoods for exactly this application. The black glass finish is neutral enough to suit a wide range of kitchen styles, the price point works for volume installations, Trade accounts are available — contact us for details.

Can the Hubble be used without external ducting?
Yes. The Hubble supports recirculation mode with compatible round charcoal filters (Number 8, sold separately). Replace filters every three to four months depending on how frequently the kitchen is used.

What ducting does the Hubble use?
125mm (5") round ducting is standard. 150mm (6") can be used if your installation allows it for slightly improved airflow.

Is the Hubble available in larger sizes?
The Hubble is available in 60cm only. If you need a larger angled black glass hood, the Curva is available in both 60cm and 90cm with a significantly more powerful motor. See the Curva product page for full details.

What charcoal filter does the Hubble use for recirculation?
Number 8 round charcoal filter, available separately on our filters page.

Home Visit & Installation Advice
Confused? Unsure? Let Us Help You Choose A Kitchen Extractor

Luxair Cooker Hoods now offer a site visit by one of our qualified in-house engineers, where they will advise on the best option regarding what cooker hood suits your kitchen needs, they can also advise on the best way to run your ducting or if re-circulation may be best for your setup.

An installation service is also available upon request and completion of a Site or home Survey. Prices will vary dependent on installation required and will be quoted once an engineer has made his visit and all necessary observations are made in relation to your cooker hood installation.

What you need to know:

Another important reason to consider a site survey is to identify the most suitable cooker hood for the location of your kitchen or bathroom.

We will look at the very best option, taking into consideration the size of your kitchen, if the ceiling construction is suitable for a ceiling cooker hood, any potential regulation requirements and above all the correct motor size and ducting route to give you the optimum extraction you require.

Your Site Survey:

During a site survey, your Luxair engineer will discuss your requirements, taking into consideration the appropriate extraction output for the room, the relevant location within the kitchen and the most suitable ducting system for your cooker hood. If the installation is new, the site survey will identify the requirements for the ducting system, ventilation and clearances to any combustible materials to maintain safe use. The site survey will allow your Luxair engineer to provide you with the best advice, consequently avoiding any unexpected expense.

Please Note: All site surveys will be booked in directly with the engineers, who will contact you within 1 - 7 working days of your payment being processed. Our engineers will call you to arrange a date and time that is convenient to you. Book Here
