The Nuvola is Luxair's recirculating ceiling hood — bolt to any ceiling, no ducting, no structural work. 950m³/hr perimeter extraction, 182mm total height, and a choice of standard charcoal filter or a long-life ceramic filter that regenerates in your oven every 2–3 years. 90cm or 120cm. Stainless Steel or White.
Nuvola Ceiling Cooker Hood — Recirculating Only. Bolt to Any Ceiling. No Ducting, No Cutting, No Compromise.
The Nuvola was designed for a specific buyer: someone who has looked at ceiling cooker hoods, decided they want one, and then discovered that every other option requires either a ceiling void, a custom drop box, or an external duct run through the building structure. The Nuvola requires none of those things. It bolts directly to the surface of any ceiling — you connect the power, and it works. The entire installation is that simple.
This is possible because the Nuvola doesn't duct air outside. It filters it, cleans it, and returns it to the kitchen through a perimeter extraction system that draws air evenly across the full face of the panel. At 950m³/hr, it processes more air per hour than most ducted ceiling extractors in the standard Luxair range — the recirculating design doesn't compromise on performance, it just changes where the clean air goes.
The ceramic filter that regenerates in your oven
This is the feature that changes the economics of recirculating extraction entirely. The optional long-life ceramic filter lasts two to three years under normal kitchen use — versus three to six months for a standard charcoal filter. And when it reaches the end of its effective life, you don't replace it. You put it in a domestic oven at the appropriate temperature for 45 minutes, and it regenerates to full filtration capacity. For a hood that will run daily for years, the difference in ongoing costs between a replacement charcoal filter every three months and a ceramic filter that you bake once every two to three years is significant. If you're choosing the Nuvola for an apartment or rental where you'll be there long-term, the ceramic filter is almost always the better value choice.
The standard charcoal carbon filter option is included in the base price and is the right choice for buyers who prefer a lower upfront cost and are comfortable with periodic filter replacement. The Nuvola's built-in filter maintenance alarm notifies you when the carbon or metal grease filters need attention — nothing to track manually.
Where the Nuvola fits — and where it doesn't
The Nuvola is the right choice for apartments, rental properties, listed buildings, and any kitchen renovation where routing external ducting is impractical, expensive, or not permitted. It's also a genuine option for new builds where the kitchen designer wants a flush ceiling extractor without the structural complexity of a joist-fit installation.
It is not the right choice if your priority is exhausting cooking air outside the building — recirculation returns filtered air to the room, which means fine particulates and moisture are reduced but not eliminated in the same way that external ducting achieves. For kitchens with very heavy cooking loads or significant moisture concerns, a ducted configuration from the rest of the Luxair range will serve better.
