220mm × 90mm Flat Ducting Flexible Hose — Extends to 500mm
This flexible hose connects two 220mm × 90mm flat rectangular ducting sections and extends up to 500mm, bending at virtually any angle to route the duct run around obstacles or through tight spaces. It is part of the Luxair System150 6" push-fit airtight ducting range.
Where This Component Is Used
Use this flexible hose where rigid System150 components cannot be installed due to restricted access, irregular angles, or obstructions within the duct run — such as ceiling joists, pipes, beams, or cables in tight ceiling voids. It is particularly suited to ceiling cooker hood installations where the duct must navigate between joists or up and over structural obstacles where a fixed-angle rigid elbow would be impractical or physically impossible to fit.
Use Rigid Components Wherever Possible
Rigid flat duct sections and push-fit elbows should always be used wherever the installation allows. Flexible hose creates more airflow resistance than rigid ducting due to its non-smooth interior, which reduces extraction performance — particularly over longer flexible sections. Use this hose only where rigid components genuinely cannot be fitted, and keep the flexible section as short and straight as possible to minimise resistance in the duct run.
Ducting Size Guide
Selecting the correct ducting diameter for your motor output ensures maximum extraction performance:
- Below 450m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2,000m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
The System150 6" Ducting Range
This component is part of the Luxair System150 range — combining 220mm × 90mm flat rectangular ducting and 150mm round ducting, both carrying equivalent airflow rates and fully interchangeable within the system. The full range includes rigid straight pipe sections, elbows, connectors, adapters, and wall vents — use rigid components wherever possible and this flexible hose only where rigid components cannot be fitted.
