Unlike the numbered filters in the Luxair range which are sized for specific hood models, this cartridge filter fits any recirculating cooker hood — wall, island, canopy, or built-in — from any manufacturer, provided the motor outlet is 150mm. If your hood operates in recirculation mode and has a 150mm outlet, this filter will fit.

Why charcoal filters matter

When your hood is set to recirculate, the air drawn up from your hob passes through the grease filters first — then through the charcoal filter before being returned to the kitchen. The charcoal filter absorbs cooking odours: garlic, fish, spices, frying — everything that would otherwise linger in your kitchen air. It also helps prevent grease and odour particles from reaching the motor, protecting internal components and extending the lifespan of your appliance. A fresh filter absorbs effectively. How do I know if my hood uses recirculation mode?
If your cooker hood vents air through a duct to an outside wall or roof, it is ducted and does not require a charcoal filter. If it has no external duct and returns filtered air back into the kitchen, it is recirculating and requires a charcoal filter. Some hoods support both modes — check your manual or look for a charcoal filter housing inside the hood behind the grease filters.

How do I know if my motor outlet is 150mm?
Remove the grease filters from your hood and look for the circular motor outlet inside. Measure the diameter — if it is 150mm (approximately 6 inches), this filter is compatible. If your outlet is a different size, contact our support team and we can advise on the correct filter.

Is this the same as the numbered Luxair charcoal filters?
No. The numbered Luxair charcoal filters (Numbers 7–16) are sized and shaped for specific Luxair hood models. This universal cartridge filter fits any recirculating hood with a 150mm motor outlet, regardless of brand. If you have a Luxair hood, check your model against the numbered filter range first — a model-specific filter will always be the best fit.

How long does this filter last?
