Luxair cooker hood remote control replacement
If the remote control for your Luxair Orion ceiling hood or small ceiling cooker hood has stopped working, been lost, or the buttons have worn out, this is the correct genuine replacement. Before ordering, scroll through the product images above and compare the shape, button layout, and design with your existing remote — if they match, this is the right fob for your hood.
If you are unsure which variant applies to your hood, provide your serial number using the fields on this page and our team will confirm the correct option before despatch.
If your hood is not one of the models listed above, visit our Remote Controls collection page where all replacement fobs are listed — find the one that matches your existing remote visually, or provide your serial number and our team will identify the correct fob for you.
Important — this remote requires pairing
The Fob 6 does not connect automatically. It must be paired to your hood before use. The pairing process for this remote uses the + button — follow these steps exactly and in order:
- Turn the hood off at the switch behind the door
- Leave the hood switched off for 10 seconds
- Turn the hood back on
- Immediately press the + button on the remote twice in quick succession
The hood should now respond to the remote. Timing is important on step 4 — press the + button twice promptly after switching the hood back on. If pairing is unsuccessful on the first attempt, repeat from step 1. If you continue to have difficulty, contact our UK-based support team and we'll guide you through it.
What it controls
Once paired, the remote gives you full wireless control of your hood from anywhere in the kitchen:
- Fan speed — use the + and − buttons to cycle through extraction speeds
- Lighting — turn the hood light on and off
- Power — turn the hood on and off without reaching up to the controls
How to confirm compatibility — find your serial number
If you're not certain this is the correct fob from the images alone, provide your serial number when ordering and our team will confirm before despatch. Remove the metal grease filters from inside your cooker hood. On the inner underside of the main body you will find a silver or white label showing one of the following — you only need one:
- S/N — for example: S/N 1234567
- Manufacture date — for example: July 2006
- LOTTO number — for example: LOTTO 1234567
Upload a photo of this label using the upload field on this page, or type the number directly into the serial number field. Our team will cross-reference your entry and ensure the correct variant and fob is despatched.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if this is the right remote for my hood?
The quickest check is visual — scroll through the product images on this page and compare the shape, button layout, and overall design with your existing remote. If they match, this is almost certainly the correct replacement. If your hood is a different model, visit our Remote Controls collection page to browse all 8 replacement fobs and match yours by image.
The pairing isn't working — what am I doing wrong?
The most common issue is the timing on step 4 — the + button must be pressed twice immediately after switching the hood back on. If there's a delay of more than a second or two, the pairing window closes and you'll need to start again from step 1. Make sure you have the remote in hand and ready before you switch the hood back on. If repeated attempts don't work, contact our support team.
My remote has stopped working — what should I try first?
Before ordering a replacement, try these steps. Replace the battery — most Luxair fobs use a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, available from any supermarket or hardware store. Check there's a clear line of sight between the remote and the hood sensor. Try re-pairing using the 4-step process above — a power cut or surge can sometimes reset the pairing. If none of these resolve it, a replacement fob is the solution.
What if I don't know my serial number?
Remove the metal grease filters from inside the hood. The serial label is on the inner underside of the main body — a silver or white sticker showing an S/N, manufacture date, or LOTTO number. If you can't locate it, take a clear photo of the inside of the hood and upload it using the photo field — our team will identify the model and confirm the correct variant before shipping.
