The Luxair 100mm 90° round ducting elbow connector
joins two 100mm (4") round ducting pipes at a right angle, allowing your cooker hood ducting run to change direction cleanly and efficiently through a 90° bend. Self-sealing push fit construction means no ducting tape is required at the joint — the connector simply pushes together and forms an airtight seal. Made from solid, rigid, fire-resistant and mould-resistant polymer, it's built for permanent installation behind kitchen walls, ceiling voids, and cabinet runs.
Self-Sealing Push Fit — No Tape, No Mess
Unlike flexible ducting hose connections that rely on tape for an airtight seal, Luxair's rigid round ducting system uses a self-sealing push fit joint — the connector and pipe click together with enough precision to form an airtight connection without tape, sealant, or clips. This makes installation faster, cleaner, and more reliable over the long term.
What This Part Is For — And When You Need It
A 90° elbow is used when your ducting run needs to turn a corner. The most common scenarios are routing ducting from a wall-mounted cooker hood horizontally through an external wall directly behind the hood, changing direction from a vertical run up through a ceiling cavity to a horizontal run across the loft space, or navigating around a joist, structural element, or pipework that sits in the direct ducting path. If your ducting run requires a 45° bend rather than a full 90°, Luxair also stocks 45° elbow connectors in the same 100mm diameter — check the related products below.
Is 100mm the Right Size for Your Hood?
100mm (4") ducting is suitable for cooker hood motors rated below 450 m³/hr. If your hood has a higher-rated motor, you'll need larger ducting for full extraction efficiency — undersized ducting restricts airflow, reduces motor performance, and increases noise. Luxair's recommendation by motor rating:
- Below 450 m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750 m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2000 m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
If you're unsure what size your hood requires, check the motor airflow rating on your product label or installation guide, and match it to the guide above. Luxair stocks 90° elbow connectors in 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, and 200mm — all available in the ducting section.
