Replacement Cooker Hood Charcoal Filters

Luxair genuine replacement charcoal filters are designed to remove cooking odours, grease particles and airborne impurities from recirculating cooker hoods.

When a charcoal filter becomes saturated, airflow is reduced and odour control is compromised. Replacing it restores performance and helps maintain a cleaner, fresher kitchen environment.

Choose your filter by shape and size below. If you’re unsure which one you need, check your hood model or contact us for support.

Charcoal Filter FAQs

Charcoal cooker hood filters should typically be replaced every 3 to 6 months, depending on how often you cook and the type of cooking you do. In households that cook frequently or use strong aromas, filters may require replacement closer to the 3-month mark.

As charcoal filters become saturated, their ability to absorb odours is reduced and airflow through the cooker hood can be restricted.

Ceramic charcoal filters are a long-life, regenerable alternative to standard disposable charcoal filters. Instead of being replaced every few months, ceramic filters are designed to be regenerated periodically, extending their usable lifespan.

How often should ceramic filters be regenerated?

Ceramic filters should typically be regenerated every 3–4 months, depending on cooking frequency and usage. Regeneration is usually carried out by placing the filter in a domestic oven, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

With correct care and regular regeneration, ceramic filters can last up to 2–3 years before needing replacement.

Matt regenerating charcoal filters are designed to last longer than standard disposable filters. Instead of being replaced every few months, they can usually be regenerated every 3–4 months (by following the manufacturer’s instructions, typically using an oven or dishwasher cycle).

With regular regeneration, matt regenerating filters can last up to 2–3 years before needing replacement, making them a practical long-term option.

Charcoal, matt regenerating and ceramic filters are not covered under warranty. These filters are classed as consumable components, meaning they are designed to wear out over time as part of normal use.

As filters absorb grease, odours and airborne particles, their performance naturally reduces with use. This is expected and does not indicate a fault with the product.

Why filters are not covered by warranty

Filters are excluded from warranty because:

  • Their lifespan depends on cooking frequency and usage

Performance decreases through normal saturation, not defect

  • Regular replacement or regeneration is required to maintain efficiency

This approach is standard across the appliance industry and applies to all cooker hood manufacturers.

What is covered under warranty?

Your cooker hood itself, including the motor and electrical components, is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, provided it is installed and used in accordance with the instructions.

Using genuine Luxair replacement filters helps ensure the hood continues to operate correctly throughout its warranty period.
