220mm × 90mm Flat Ducting Pipe — 200mm Short Section
This is a 200mm short section of 220mm × 90mm flat rectangular ducting pipe — the same push-fit airtight System150 component as the 1 metre pipe, in a short length for specific installation scenarios. It is part of the Luxair System150 6" ducting range.
Primary Use — Connecting Ceiling Hood Flat Radial Motors to Round Ducting
This short section is most commonly used to bridge the flat motor outlet of a Luxair ceiling cooker hood to the round ducting run above it, using one of the following System150 adapters:
Option 1 — Horizontal transition:
Use the 150mm Round to 220mm × 90mm Horizontal Connector — connects the flat motor outlet horizontally to a 150mm round duct run.
Option 2 — 90° transition:
Use the 220mm × 90mm Round to Rectangular 90° Elbow — connects the flat motor outlet at a right angle into a 150mm round duct run.
In both cases, this 200mm short section provides the flat duct length needed between the motor spigot and the adapter, where a full 1 metre pipe would be impractical in the available ceiling void space.
Construction and Performance
Pipe ends are female and will accept all male System150 fittings. Manufactured from flame-retardant polymer — lightweight and simple to fit. The push-fit airtight connector system requires no ducting tape at any joint. Suitable for cooker hoods with motor speeds up to 1,200m³/hr. More efficient than flexible aluminium pipe across all extraction rates.
Ducting Size Guide
Selecting the correct ducting diameter for your motor output ensures maximum extraction performance:
- Below 450m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2,000m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
The System150 6" Ducting Range
This pipe is part of the Luxair System150 range — combining 220mm × 90mm flat rectangular ducting and 150mm round ducting, both carrying equivalent airflow rates and fully interchangeable within the system via adapters. The full range includes straight pipe sections, bends, elbows, connectors, adapters, and wall vents to complete any standard extraction installation.
