Luxair Automatic Airtight Wall Vent — 125mm (5") and 150mm (6")

The Luxair Automatic Airtight Wall Vent seals shut automatically when your extractor fan is switched off, preventing warm air from escaping through the wall duct and cold air from entering. It operates entirely by air pressure — when the extractor runs, the pressure opens the vent; when the extractor stops, low-maintenance springs return the vent to the sealed position. No electricity, no sensors, no maintenance beyond occasional cleaning.

How It Differs From a Standard Wall Vent

A standard wall vent uses a simple gravity or spring flap that provides minimal sealing — warm air escapes around the flap and wind pressure can force cold air back through the duct into the kitchen. The Luxair automatic airtight vent uses a full perimeter seal on the exterior cover, closing flush against the wall surface for maximum heat retention. Internal guide vanes reduce back-pressure within the duct run, improving extraction efficiency and reducing operating noise compared to a standard vent outlet.

Installation Guidance

For optimum performance this vent is recommended for use with cooker hoods rated above 650m³/hr — the motor needs sufficient airflow pressure to open the vent fully. Use with 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting and keep the total duct run under 4 metres for optimal airflow and heat retention performance.
