Most bathroom fans deliver 85m³/hr. The Luxair delivers 350m³/hr — four times the power, ceiling-mounted between your joists, IP45 rated for direct installation above the shower. Tunable dimmable LED lights, 10-speed remote control, 20-minute auto-timer. Matt Black, Gloss White, Cashmere or Stainless Steel.

Luxair Bathroom Extractor Fan — 350m³/hr. Four Times the Power of a Standard Bathroom Fan. IP45 Rated.

The average bathroom extractor fan fitted in UK homes delivers around 85m³/hr of airflow. It sits on the wall, hums when you switch it on, and does a reasonable job of clearing steam from a small bathroom if you leave it running long enough. The Luxair ceiling bathroom fan delivers 350m³/hr — more than four times that output — from a slimline motor that fits directly between standard UK ceiling joists. The comparison is not incremental. It's a different category of bathroom ventilation entirely.

That power matters because bathroom moisture is a persistent problem. Steam that isn't cleared quickly condenses on walls, ceilings, and grout, leading to damp and mould growth that a low-power fan running after the fact can't adequately prevent. At 350m³/hr, the Luxair fan clears steam from a bathroom during a shower rather than after it — and the 20-minute auto-timer ensures it continues running after you've left the room without needing to be manually switched off.

IP45 rated — safe directly above the shower

The IP45 rating means this fan is certified for use in wet environments including directly above shower areas and in wet rooms. Standard bathroom extractor fans rated IP44 or below should not be installed in Zone 1 (directly above the shower head). The Luxair fan's IP45 rating gives it the clearance to be positioned where the extraction is most effective — at the point of steam generation, not across the room from it. This certification also makes it suitable for use in caravans, catering trailers, annexes, and other moisture-prone spaces where ventilation is needed but conventional installation isn't always possible.

Tunable LED lighting — 2950K to 6500K, 10 speeds, remote controlled

The two 4000K LED lights are fully dimmable and adjustable in colour temperature from warm 2950K through to cool daylight 6500K — so the bathroom lighting can be tuned to match the atmosphere you want rather than locked to a fixed tone. The remote control handles all ten fan speeds, the lighting, and the 20-minute auto-off timer. For a ceiling-mounted unit installed between joists, remote operation is the sensible arrangement — and the 10-speed range gives genuinely granular control from near-silent background ventilation through to maximum clearance speed.

Fits between ceiling joists. Dual-use by design.

The ultra-slim motor fits into ceiling joist spaces as shallow as 200mm high with 150mm width — the dimensions that correspond to standard UK joist sizing. Installation requires a 100mm (4") duct minimum. The fan is compatible with both 240v and 12v systems, making it equally at home in a domestic bathroom, a caravan, an annexe conversion, or a catering trailer. Available in Matt Black, Gloss White, and Brushed Stainless Steel across multiple width options. Register within 31 days for warranty coverage.

Home Visit & Installation Advice
Confused? Unsure? Let Us Help You Choose A Kitchen Extractor

Luxair Cooker Hoods now offer a site visit by one of our qualified in-house engineers, where they will advise on the best option regarding what cooker hood suits your kitchen needs, they can also advise on the best way to run your ducting or if re-circulation may be best for your setup.

An installation service is also available upon request and completion of a Site or home Survey. Prices will vary dependent on installation required and will be quoted once an engineer has made his visit and all necessary observations are made in relation to your cooker hood installation.

What you need to know:

Another important reason to consider a site survey is to identify the most suitable cooker hood for the location of your kitchen or bathroom.

We will look at the very best option, taking into consideration the size of your kitchen, if the ceiling construction is suitable for a ceiling cooker hood, any potential regulation requirements and above all the correct motor size and ducting route to give you the optimum extraction you require.

Your Site Survey:

During a site survey, your Luxair engineer will discuss your requirements, taking into consideration the appropriate extraction output for the room, the relevant location within the kitchen and the most suitable ducting system for your cooker hood. If the installation is new, the site survey will identify the requirements for the ducting system, ventilation and clearances to any combustible materials to maintain safe use. The site survey will allow your Luxair engineer to provide you with the best advice, consequently avoiding any unexpected expense.

Please Note: All site surveys will be booked in directly with the engineers, who will contact you within 1 - 7 working days of your payment being processed. Our engineers will call you to arrange a date and time that is convenient to you. Book Here
