The Luxair 100mm x 60mm flat ducting 90° horizontal elbow connector

...joins two lengths of 100mm x 60mm flat rectangular ducting at a right angle in the horizontal plane — turning the duct run left or right along the top of wall cabinets, across a ceiling void, or within a wall chase without changing the vertical height of the run. Self-sealing push fit, and the smooth interior bore maintains airflow efficiency through the bend.

Horizontal vs Vertical — Which Elbow Do You Need?

This is the question that causes the most wrong purchases in the flat ducting range. A horizontal elbow turns the duct run left or right — the duct stays at the same height throughout the bend, travelling along a flat surface like a cabinet top or ceiling line. A vertical elbow turns the duct run upward or downward — used when the run needs to change floor level, drop into a cabinet void, or rise up through a ceiling. If your ducting run travels along the top of your kitchen wall cabinets and needs to turn a corner at the end — left or right — this is the correct fitting. If your run needs to go up or down at any point, use the 100mm x 60mm 90° Vertical Elbow instead.

Where This Fitting Is Used in a Typical Installation

The most common scenario for this elbow is a flat ducting run travelling horizontally along the top of kitchen wall cabinets that needs to turn a corner — for example, when the hood is on one wall but the external vent is on an adjacent wall. The flat duct runs straight from the adaptor at the hood outlet along the cabinet top, hits this horizontal elbow at the corner, turns 90°, and continues along the next run of cabinets toward the external wall vent. Two horizontal elbows back-to-back can also be used to create a U-shaped offset where structural elements or pipework block a straight run.

Self-Sealing Push Fit — No Tape at Rigid Joints

Both ends of this elbow are push fit and self-sealing against 100mm x 60mm flat ducting pipe and matching fittings — no ducting tape, sealant, or clips required at any rigid-to-rigid joint in the run. Tape is only needed when the run transitions to flexible aluminium or plastic flexible hose at any point. The smooth interior bore through the bend minimizes airflow turbulence compared to sharper or poorly fitted junctions, maintaining extraction efficiency through the corner.

Part of Luxair's Complete 100mm x 60mm Flat Ducting System

This elbow connects seamlessly with every other component in Luxair's 100mm x 60mm flat ducting range — 1-metre flat duct pipes, vertical 90° elbows, inline connector collars, ducting clips, and round-to-flat transition adaptors.

All the other components needed to complete your ducting run are available as related products at the bottom of this page — add everything to your basket in one visit without having to search for each part separately.

Is 100mm x 60mm the Right Size for Your Hood?

100mm x 60mm flat ducting is the equivalent airflow cross-section to 100mm round ducting and suits cooker hood motors rated below 450 m³/hr. For higher-rated motors use larger ducting throughout the entire run:

  • Below 450 m³/hr → 100mm round or 100mm x 60mm flat ducting
  • 450–750 m³/hr → 125mm or 150mm round, or 220mm x 90mm flat channel
  • 750–2000 m³/hr → 150mm or 200mm round ducting

Flat Ducting 90° Horizontal Elbow — Turns Left or Right Joins two 100mm x 60mm flat duct lengths at a right angle in the horizontal plane. For turns along cabinet tops and ceiling voids at the same height.

Self-Sealing Push Fit on Both Ends Airtight connection without ducting tape. Tape only required when connecting to flexible hose.

Smooth Interior Bore Smooth internal profile minimises airflow turbulence through the bend, maintaining extraction efficiency.

Horizontal Orientation Duct exits left or right at the same height. For upward or downward direction changes use the 100mm x 60mm Vertical Elbow instead.

Fire Resistant Polymer Construction Solid rigid fire-resistant polymer — safe for permanent installation above cabinets, in ceiling voids, and wall chases.

Mould Resistant Moisture and mould resistant — suitable for kitchen ventilation environments.

Compatible With Full Luxair 100mm x 60mm Flat Range Works with all Luxair 100mm x 60mm flat pipes, vertical elbows, connector collars, clips, and adaptor pieces.

Suitable For Hoods Rated Below 450 m³/hr Equivalent airflow to 100mm round ducting. Higher-rated motors require larger ducting throughout.

Next-Day UK Delivery Available In stock and available for express overnight delivery across the UK.

⚠️ Image Check Required

One of your three product images has a filename referencing 220mm x 90mm — the larger flat duct size. Before publishing, confirm all three images show the 100mm x 60mm fitting and replace any that show the wrong product. Mismatched product images are one of the most common causes of returns on ducting parts and will hurt your seller ratings if left uncorrected.
