The Luxair 100mm round ducting connector collar
...is a straight inline joiner that connects two lengths of 100mm round rigid ducting pipe end-to-end, extending your ducting run in a straight line without any change in direction. Also known as a straight connector, inline coupler, or ducting joiner, it's the most frequently needed component in any rigid round ducting installation — used wherever a 1-metre pipe length ends and the run needs to continue straight.
When You Need This Part
You need a connector collar every time one length of 100mm round ducting pipe ends and you need to continue the run in the same direction. In practice that means any ducting run longer than one metre will require at least one connector collar, and longer runs through ceiling voids, wall cavities, or above kitchen cabinets will typically need several. It is also used to repair a ducting run where a section of pipe has been cut, damaged, or needs to be extended — push the collar over both cut ends and the joint is sealed without tape or adhesive.
Self-Sealing Push Fit — Airtight Without Tape
The connector collar slides over the ends of two 100mm rigid pipes and forms an airtight push fit seal on contact. No ducting tape, sealant, or fixings are needed at a rigid-to-rigid connection. The only time ducting tape is required in a Luxair rigid ducting run is when connecting to flexible aluminium or plastic flexible hose — all rigid-to-rigid joints throughout the run are fully self-sealing.
Part of Luxair's Complete 100mm Ducting System
This connector collar is designed to work seamlessly with every other component in Luxair's 100mm round ducting range — 1-metre rigid pipes, 90° elbow connectors, 45° elbow connectors, round-to-flat adaptors, flexible aluminium hose, and external wall vents and grilles.
All the other components you need to complete your 100mm ducting run are available as related products at the bottom of this page — add everything to your basket in a single visit without having to search for each part separately.
Is 100mm the Right Size for Your Hood?
100mm (4") ducting is correct for cooker hood motors rated below 450 m³/hr. For higher-rated motors, use larger ducting to avoid restricting airflow and increasing motor noise:
- Below 450 m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750 m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2000 m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
Luxair stocks straight connector collars in all four standard ducting sizes — 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, and 200mm — all available in the ducting section.
