Flat ducting clips are the most commonly forgotten component in a kitchen ducting installation. The duct goes up, the elbows connect, everything looks secure — and then six months later the run has sagged at the midpoint, a joint has partially separated, and extraction performance has dropped noticeably. Clips prevent all of this. Fitted every 600–900mm along a horizontal run and at every change of direction, they anchor the duct securely to the structure above, eliminate sag, keep joints tight, and ensure the ducting run performs at full efficiency for the lifetime of the installation. How Many Do You Need?
As a general guide, fit one clip approximately every 600–900mm along any horizontal flat duct run, plus one clip on each side of every elbow connector. For a 3-metre run with two elbows that means a minimum of 5–6 clips — so two packs of 2 as a minimum, three packs to be safe. Always order slightly more than your calculation suggests — running one clip short at the end of an installation means leaving the last section unsecured, which is exactly where sagging and joint separation starts.

These clips are sized specifically for 100mm x 60mm flat rectangular duct pipe. They will not fit 220mm x 90mm flat channel ducting, 150mm x 70mm flat duct, or any round ducting profile.
