150mm × 70mm Flexible Ducting Hose — Extends to 500mm
This flexible hose connects two 150mm × 70mm flat rectangular ducting sections and extends up to 500mm, bending at virtually any angle to route the duct run around obstacles or through tight spaces. It is part of the Luxair 5" push-fit airtight ducting system.
Where This Component Is Used
Unlike rigid bends which are fixed at 90°, this flexible hose adapts to any angle — making it the correct solution wherever a precise bend angle isn't known in advance or where rigid components can't be fitted. It is particularly suited to ceiling cooker hood installations where the duct must navigate between ceiling joists, up and over structural obstacles, or through irregular ceiling voids where a fixed-angle elbow would be impractical.
When to Use Flexible Hose vs Rigid Bends
Rigid 90° elbows and bends should be used wherever the installation allows — they offer lower airflow resistance than flexible hose. Use this flexible hose where the installation requires it: tight joist spaces, irregular angles, or where rigid components physically cannot be fitted. Keep the flexible section as short and straight as possible to minimise resistance in the duct run.
The 5" Push-Fit System
This component is part of the Luxair 125mm (5") push-fit airtight ducting range. The system combines 150mm × 70mm flat rectangular ducting and 125mm round ducting — both formats carry equivalent airflow rates and are fully interchangeable within the system. All components connect by push-fit for a patent-protected airtight seal with no ducting tape, adhesive, or clips required. Suitable for kitchen, bathroom, and utility room extract systems, as well as whole-house ventilation installations.
Ducting Size Guide
Selecting the correct ducting diameter for your motor output ensures maximum extraction performance:
- Below 450m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2,000m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
