This is a 1.2 metre straight section of 200mm round rigid ducting pipe, suitable for cooker hood installations with motor speeds up to 2,000m³/hr. Constructed from strong rigid polyurethane, it is part of the Luxair 8" ducting range for high-power extraction systems.

200mm Ducting Is Required for High-Power Motors

Cooker hoods with motor ratings between 950m³/hr and 2,000m³/hr must be installed with 200mm (8") ducting to achieve full extraction performance and quiet operation. Using smaller diameter ducting on these motors forces the motor to work harder to move the same volume of air through a restricted opening, increasing operational noise and hood vibration throughout the installation. Always use 200mm ducting for the complete duct run on any hood rated above 950m³/hr.

Why Rigid Round Ducting Outperforms Flexible Aluminium Pipe

Rigid round ducting is significantly more efficient than flexible aluminium pipe. Flexible aluminium tube has a corrugated interior surface that creates turbulence and resistance in the airflow, reducing extraction performance — particularly over longer duct runs. The smooth interior walls of rigid round ducting allow air to travel freely with minimal resistance, delivering consistently higher extraction rates from the same motor. For any installation where rigid ducting can be fitted, it is always the preferred choice over flexible aluminium pipe.
