220mm × 90mm Flat Ducting Pipe — 1 Metre
This is the standard 1 metre straight section of 220mm × 90mm flat rectangular ducting pipe, suitable for cooker hood installations with motor speeds up to 1,200m³/hr. It is part of the Luxair System150 6" ducting range.
Pipe ends are female and will accept male fittings — bends, grilles, and connectors. To join two lengths of pipe on a straight run, use a male connector from the System150 range. All connections are push-fit and airtight — no ducting tape required at any joint.
Why Rigid Flat Ducting Outperforms Flexible Aluminium Pipe
Rigid flat ducting is significantly more efficient than flexible aluminium pipe. Flexible aluminium tube has a corrugated interior surface that creates turbulence and resistance in the airflow, reducing extraction performance — particularly over longer duct runs. The smooth interior walls of rigid flat ducting allow air to travel freely with minimal resistance, delivering consistently higher extraction rates from the same motor. Luxair recommends rigid flat ducting for all ceiling extractor hoods and all extractors with a minimum motor speed of 650m³/hr.
Construction
Manufactured from flame-retardant polymer — lightweight, durable, and simple to fit throughout. The push-fit airtight connector system is patented and requires no ducting tape at any joint, ensuring a high-performance extraction run without suction loss.
Ducting Size Guide
Selecting the correct ducting diameter for your motor output ensures maximum extraction performance:
- Below 450m³/hr → 100mm (4") ducting
- 450–750m³/hr → 125mm (5") or 150mm (6") ducting
- 750–2,000m³/hr → 150mm (6") or 200mm (8") ducting
The System150 6" Ducting Range
This pipe is part of the Luxair System150 range — combining 220mm × 90mm flat rectangular ducting and 150mm round ducting, both carrying equivalent airflow rates and fully interchangeable within the system via adapters. The full range includes bends, elbows, connectors, adapters, and wall vents to complete any standard extraction installation.
