...is a handmade steel ventilation grille designed for the external or internal termination of a cooker hood ducting run — available in stainless steel, matt black, white, and anthracite to match your kitchen exterior, internal wall finish, or existing fixtures. Unlike mass-produced plastic louvre vents, this is a hand-finished steel grille built to last the lifetime of your kitchen installation, with an integrated fly screen and a weighted backdraught shutter that closes automatically when the extractor is off. Available with an optional 100mm or 125mm connector collar to complete the connection in a single order.
External or Internal — Two Uses, One Grille
This vent works equally well as an external wall vent — terminating the ducting run on the outside face of an exterior wall, allowing extracted cooking air to exit the building — or as an internal wall grille — used where ducting passes through a partition wall into another void or space and a clean, finished face is needed on the internal side. The square steel profile sits flush against brick, render, timber cladding, and internal plaster equally well, making it the right choice for both applications in a single product.
Integrated Fly Screen — Keeps Insects Out
Every Luxair square steel wall vent includes a built-in fly screen behind the grille face — essential for external installations where insects, wasps, and spiders would otherwise enter the ducting run when the extractor is off. The fine mesh screen is integrated into the vent body rather than clipped on separately, so it stays in place permanently without the risk of falling out or being accidentally removed during cleaning.
Four Finishes — Matched to Your Kitchen or Exterior
Stainless steel suits kitchens with stainless appliances and modern exteriors — and resists corrosion and weathering indefinitely on external walls. Matt black coordinates with dark kitchen schemes, black window frames, and contemporary exterior finishes where a standard white vent would stand out. White is the most popular choice for painted rendered exteriors, white PVC window surrounds, and internal walls with white plasterwork. Anthracite is the go-to for grey rendered exteriors, aluminium window frames, and kitchens with dark grey or slate colour schemes — the fastest-growing finish choice in new-build and renovation projects.
Optional Connector Collar — Complete the Job in One Order
Add a 100mm or 125mm connector collar to connect the duct pipe inside the wall directly to the back of the vent grille — the fitting that completes the connection between your ducting run and the vent face. 6" options will fit straight onto 150mm rigid pipe or semi rigid ducting. Ducting tape is recommended around the collar joint to ensure a fully airtight seal at the wall termination point. If you already have the correct collar, select "Not Required".
