Luxair cooker hood remote control replacement — Fob 3
If the remote control for your Luxair Gealux, Cosmic, Verde, or Xenia cooker hood has stopped working, been lost, or the buttons have worn out, this is the correct genuine replacement. Before ordering, scroll through the product images above and compare the shape, button layout, and design with your existing remote — if they match, this is the right fob for your hood.
Important: The Fob 3 is an updated design and has replaced the original black remote with black buttons shown in some older product images. If your hood was supplied with that older black remote, this Fob 3 is the current compatible replacement.
Compatible models:
- Luxair Gealux Cooker Hood (LA-GEA)
- Luxair Cosmic Ceiling Cooker Hood (LA-COSMIC-CEILING)
- Luxair Cosmic Island Cooker Hood (LA-COSMIC-ISL)
- Luxair Verde Cooker Hood (LA-VERDE)
- Luxair Xenia Cooker Hood (LA-XENIA)
If your hood is not one of the models listed above, visit our Remote Controls collection page where all replacement fobs are listed — find the one that matches your existing remote visually, or provide your serial number and our team will identify the correct fob for you.
Important — this remote requires pairing
Fob 3 does not connect automatically. It must be paired to your hood before use. This is a straightforward one-time process — follow these steps exactly:
- Turn the hood off at the mains power supply
- Turn the hood back on at the mains power supply
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button on the remote for more than 3 seconds
- Listen for the sound signal — this confirms the remote has paired successfully
- The hood should now respond to all remote commands
If the remote does not pair on the first attempt, repeat the process from step 1. If you continue to have difficulty, contact our UK-based support team and we'll guide you through it.
What it controls
Once paired, the remote gives you full wireless control of your hood from anywhere in the kitchen:
- Fan speed — cycle through all available extraction speeds
- Lighting — turn the hood light on and off
- Power — turn the hood on and off without reaching up to the controls
How to confirm compatibility — find your serial number
If you're not certain this is the correct fob from the images alone, provide your serial number when ordering and our team will confirm before despatch. Remove the metal grease filters from inside your cooker hood. On the inner underside of the main body you will find a silver or white label. This label shows one of the following — you only need one:
- S/N — for example: S/N 1234567
- Manufacture date — for example: July 2006
- LOTTO number — for example: LOTTO 1234567
Upload a photo of this label using the upload field on this page, or type the number directly into the serial number field. Our team will cross-reference your entry and ensure the correct fob is despatched.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if this is the right remote for my hood?
The quickest check is visual — scroll through the product images on this page and compare the shape, button layout, and overall design with your existing remote. If they match, this is almost certainly the correct replacement. This fob is specifically for the Luxair Gealux, Cosmic, Verde, and Xenia models. If your hood is a different model, visit our Remote Controls collection page to browse all 8 replacement fobs and match yours by image.
Why does this remote need pairing when others don't?
Different Luxair hood models use different remote control systems. The Fob 3 uses a paired infrared system, meaning the remote and the hood sensor need to be linked once before use. This is a one-time process and takes under a minute. Once paired, the remote works exactly like any other — point and press.
My remote has stopped working — is it definitely broken?
Before ordering a replacement, try these steps first. Replace the battery — most Luxair fobs use a standard CR2032 coin cell battery, available from any supermarket or hardware store. Check there's a clear line of sight between the remote and the sensor on the hood with nothing blocking it. If the remote was previously working and has stopped, try re-pairing it using the steps above — sometimes a power interruption or surge can cause the pairing to reset. If none of these steps resolve it, the fob itself is the issue and a replacement will fix it.
What if I don't know my serial number?
Remove the metal grease filters from inside the hood. The serial label is on the inner underside of the main body — a silver or white sticker showing an S/N, manufacture date, or LOTTO number. If you can't locate it, take a clear photo of the inside of the hood and upload it using the photo field — our team will identify the model from the image and confirm the correct remote before shipping.
