The Tolvi External Motor is one of the quietest ceiling hood Luxair makes and the most visually dramatic — an illuminated full-face LED glass panel over the hob, powered by a motor that's entirely outside your home. Up to 2,000m³/hr.
Tolvi Ceiling Cooker Hood with External Motor — The Quietest Kitchen. The Most Dramatic Ceiling.
There's a paradox at the heart of the Tolvi External Motor. On one hand, it's the most acoustically unobtrusive ceiling hood Luxair makes — the motor is outside the building, and what remains in the kitchen produces almost no mechanical noise at all. On the other, it has the most visually dramatic ceiling presence of any hood in the range — the entire face of the panel glows, a full-face illuminated white glass door that functions as both a ceiling light fitting and an extractor fan simultaneously.
Most extraction upgrades ask you to choose: power or silence, aesthetics or performance. The Tolvi External Motor is the configuration where you don't have to choose any of them.
The LED panel — the entire face illuminates
The Tolvi's full-face white glass LED door panel is retained in the External Motor configuration — the same dimmable panel that makes the standard Tolvi unique across the Luxair range. When the extraction is running, you hear almost nothing and see a glowing ceiling panel over the hob. When the lights are dimmed, the panel becomes an ambient ceiling feature independent of the fan. It's an architectural element as much as an appliance, and it's what separates the Tolvi External from both the Anzi External (spotlights) and the Caporra External (surround ring). No other external motor ceiling hood in the range looks like this.
Up to 2,000m³/hr
Two motor power options are available: a standard 1,400m³/hr A-rated motor suited to duct runs up to 6.5 metres, and a 2,000m³/hr extra-powerful motor for longer runs up to 8.5 metres, larger kitchens, or professional cooking environments. Both are available in three external mounting configurations — wall-mounted, flat roof, and pitched roof — all built from 18/10 rust-proof stainless steel for permanent outdoor installation.
The 2,000m³/hr motor requires a larger duct size of 200mm, whereas the smaller external motor requires 150mm ducting.
What makes the Tolvi External stand apart from other external motor hoods is the completeness of what's included. The flat roof motor option comes with the roof tower and full cable connections, not just the motor unit. The pitched roof option includes the roof tile vent kit. The wall-mounted option includes the through-wall sleeve. All configurations ship with a 5-metre power cable connector that can be extended by an electrician if the installation requires it. The remote control is attached to the main hood body. You're not piecing the system together from separate orders — the kit arrives complete.
Three sizes. The largest external motor ceiling hood Luxair makes.
The Tolvi External is available in 60cm × 60cm, 90cm × 50cm, and 120cm × 50cm — all with the White LED glass door and stainless steel trim. These are the deeper 50cm body variants (and the square 60×60cm), making them the better fit for kitchens with standard ceiling void depths and for buyers who want the maximum visual presence the Tolvi format provides. The 120cm × 50cm configuration over a wide kitchen island is among the most dramatic ceiling extraction configurations Luxair offers.
Boost mode. 7 years covered. Home survey recommended.
Boost mode delivers a 10-minute surge at maximum extraction before automatically resetting — useful for heavy cooking sessions when the external motor is running at full capacity. Register within 31 days of installation for seven years of parts and labour warranty. Given the complexity of routing ducting through the building structure and selecting the right roof or wall motor configuration, Luxair's home survey and professional installation service is strongly recommended for the Tolvi External — it's the installation where expert guidance genuinely prevents expensive mistakes.
