The Caporra External Motor comes with the full dimmable LED surround ring that the Caporra is known for. Up to 2,000m³/hr. Wall, flat roof, or pitched roof motor. Three installation modes. 90cm or 120cm.
Caporra Ceiling Cooker Hood with External Motor — Near-Silent Extraction. Full LED Surround. No Compromise.
Every external motor ceiling hood in the Luxair range moves the noise outside. That's the principle: relocate the motor to a wall, flat roof, or pitched roof, run the duct through the building fabric, and what remains inside the kitchen is a flush panel with almost nothing to hear.
The Caporra External Motor removes that trade-off entirely. It's the only ceiling hood in the Luxair range that delivers both near-silent operation through an external motor and the full dimmable LED surround ring that turns the hood into a ceiling lighting feature. You don't have to choose between the quietest installation and the most visually striking one. This is both.
The LED surround that stays, whatever the motor
The Caporra's perimeter LED ring — dimmable across its full range via remote — is fully retained in the External Motor configuration. When you turn the extraction on, the ring glows. When you dim it down, it provides ambient kitchen light independent of whether the fan is running. In an open-plan kitchen-diner where the extractor panel is a visible ceiling feature, this isn't a minor cosmetic detail — it's the difference between a ceiling that looks designed and one that simply has a grille in it. The external motor means you won't hear anything from upstairs, from the dining area, or over a conversation. The LED surround means the panel still earns its place in the room aesthetically.
External motor — wall, flat roof, or pitched roof
The same three weatherproof motor options available with the Anzi External apply here: wall-mounted (flat rear face, mounts flush to any external wall), flat roof (horizontal surface installation), and pitched roof (angled base preventing direct exhaust onto roof tiles). All are built from 18/10 rust-proof stainless steel and rated for permanent outdoor installation. The standard motor delivers 1,400m³/hr with a maximum duct run of 6.5 metres. The extra-powerful option reaches 2,000m³/hr with duct runs up to 8.5 metres — suited to large open-plan kitchens, long routes through the building structure, or professional-grade cooking environments where the standard motor's headroom isn't sufficient. Both connect to the hood body via the included 5-metre cable.
Three installation modes.
The Caporra External is available in the different depth variants: 90cm × 30cm and 120cm × 30cm / 90cm x 50cm and 120cm x 50cm. That slim profile of the 30cm depth means installation between ceiling joists even in tight ceiling voids, or within a shallow drop-box build, or as a canopy hood positioned closer to the cooking surface. All modes are available — flush ceiling, custom drop-box, or canopy — giving this configuration the broadest installation flexibility of any external motor hood in the Luxair range. White, Matt Black, and Brushed Stainless Steel finishes are available across both sizes. Boost mode and full remote control are retained from the standard Caporra.
Shipped in separate boxes. Plan the installation carefully.
The Caporra External ships as two components: the Caporra ceiling hood body (with remote attached) and the external motor of your choice, with a 1-metre power cable and the 5-metre connecting cable included. The installation requires 150mm round or 220mm × 90mm flat ducting — smaller ducting will void the warranty. The more powerful 2,000m³/hr motor requires 200mm ducting. Maximum recommended installation height is 2 metres above the hob. Given the complexity of routing ducting externally, Luxair's home survey and professional installation service is strongly recommended for this configuration.
